Clinics
The only clinics currently licensed by Metabolic Industries to provide MAT® treatment (formerly known as Metabolic Activation Therapy and other names) are in Reno, NV and Midland, TX. Additional clinics are licensed by MI through Advanced Diabetes Treatment Centers of America (ADTC), in Florida.
Other companies claiming licenses
Several companies have falsely claimed to hold licenses to practice patents held by Thomas T. Aoki, MD or otherwise provide or administer MAT® treatment. Any person investigating the power of any person or business entity other than Metabolic Industries to license, sublicense, authorize, or franchise this therapy should contact us to inquire about the validity of any such representations.
Unfortunately, several individuals and affiliated business entities have promoted franchises or other commercialization without first acquiring proper licenses. Metabolic Industries was forced to challenge the right of a promoter to "franchise" MAT® treatment. Ultimately, a district court in Reno, Nevada vindicated Metabolic Industries' position and prevented further franchising.
Potential franchisees or other investors should also be aware that many health insurers have refused to reimburse patients, clinics, or physicians for MAT® treatment. Metabolic Industries also understands that several franchisees not authorized by Metabolic Industries failed and sued their franchisor in Salt Lake County, Utah.
